If you’re like most women, you struggle with some core issues of control, insecurity, fear, anxiety, and anger.  Nicole Unice addresses these issues in a bold and godly way in her new book, She’s Got Issues:  seriously good news for stressed-out, secretly scared control freaks like us.  Don’t you love that title?!

Unice, who is a mom and ministry leader, in addition to having a professional counseling career, offers women valuable, godly insight on how to identify and deal with these core issues in our lives.  Her honesty about her own struggles, fantastic stories of other women dealing with these issues, and straight from the Word advice makes this book a must read for women who have found themselves wondering why they just don’t feel changed by their faith.

Unice brings her experience in counseling to the book, but the focus is on relying on God and His Word to heal our hearts.  This is a refreshing take on these issues.  The book is fun to read, with quizzes to help readers identify their own issues.  At the end of every chapter are opportunities to journal, to explore God’s word, and to answer thought-provoking questions that will help women trust God to help them through the issues that they have.

The book also comes with a DVD curriculum, in which Nicole talks with women about the issues in the book.  It is interesting to hear Nicole speak, and she provides great wisdom from the Bible to help women as they go through each section.  The DVD curriculum has six sessions, which are about 20-25 minutes long, not including pauses to journal.  My DVD was missing the participant’s guide, but even so, the book and the DVD alone would make a great women’s Bible Study tool.
