Dandelions on the Wind

Dandelions on the Wind takes readers back to the aftermath of the Civil War.  In this short novella, Maren Jensen has taken a job on a farm in Missouri as a way to earn money for her return trip overseas back to her family.  Though she still longs to go home and escape from the memory of the man who rejected her because of her failing eyesight, Maren has grown to love the elderly Elsa and her granddaughter Gabi.

When Gabi’s father, Wooly, unexpectedly returns to the farm seeking forgiveness and his family, Maren has a choice to make.  Will she follow her heart and allow this family to become her own, or will she use Wooly’s return as an excuse to run away again and return home?

I enjoyed this sweet historical novel by Mona Hodgson, and I look forward to reading the next in the The Quilted Heart novella series.  🙂
