21 Day Fix Results

I finished up my 1st round of the 21 Day Fix on Saturday. I’m happy because I feel better and look better–I lost 1.5″ around my chest, waist, hips, and each thigh. However, I didn’t lose as much weight as I’d hoped–4 pounds total.

I’m taking this week ‘off’–following the maintenance eating plan and giving my body a break from exercising–and then will start up with Round 2 on Sunday. I hope it won’t take me two or three more rounds to get down to my goal weight, but I’m in it to win it!

I have to say that I really love the meal plan. It’s so easy to follow! Plus, I feel free from the sugar cravings I had before. I had to pack up the Easter candy yesterday because, even though I didn’t want it, I was eating it out of habit. As I told my kids, I worked too hard to get here to let it go again.

It’s a little daunting to think that I’m laying out a plan for the rest of my life…but basically that’s what we have to do, isn’t it? If we want to make a lasting change, we have to commit to doing good things for the rest of our lives…thinking that we’ll just relapse into our old, comfortable (and destructive) habits once we reach our goals just means that we’ll end up back where we started and have to do it again!

Whatever your goals are…you can reach them! I think, though, that it takes more than a short-term commitment–we have to commit to the long haul, truly changing our lifestyle. 🙂
