Becoming a Prayer Warrior was originally published by Elizabeth Alves in 1998.  With a call to intercession, Alves founded Intercessors International and published the first version of this book–the Prayer Manual.

For many people, prayer is confusing. On the one hand, the Bible says, “Ask and you will receive,” but, on the other, so many prayers seem to go unanswered. Not only does Alves answer questions about what prayer is, but she teaches readers HOW to pray effectively.

Section I teaches the Purpose of Prayer, Section II teaches readers how to listen for God’s voice, Section III explains Spiritual Warfare, Section IV covers the Weapons of Warfare, and, finally, Section V includes A Guide to Prayer.

Alves writes in a fashion that is easy to read and relate to. It sounds as if she is talking directly to the reader. She supports her ideas with stories from her own life, easy to understand guidelines, and, most importantly, plenty of Scripture. Not only does she provide an exhaustive manual for those truly wanting to learn to pray, but she includes prayers at the end of the book to help readers get started on their journey.

If you are someone who wants to learn to pray more effectively, I recommend Becoming a Prayer Warrior.
