So, when we moved we brought along some furniture that had seen better days. It was still functional, but not really pretty. So, rather than buy new furniture, we decided to experiment a bit with chalk paint. I found a recipe for chalk paint and got started.

Our first project was a bed & nightstand  for Josyan’s room.  We didn’t prime the wood–just mixed our paint and got started. I used THIS recipe–make sure you get the right kind of paint! If you get paint with primer in it, the plaster just turns it into a mess!! I started waxing the night stand, but it was kind of a pain & I decided it wasn’t needed for this project.

Here’s the finished product–I think it turned out pretty well and definitely gave new life to this furniture!
