Silas Jonesy and Kate Dawson are both hurting and broken. Silas, who was left at an orphanage by his mother at 5, wants a family, but thinks he isn’t worth loving. Kate, a victim of abuse, just keeps running. They are drawn together by Silas’ son, Anthony. Unfortunately, Anthony has his own hurts, with a dead mother and the mistaken belief that a gambler who taught him to be a pickpocket is his real father. Working together to save Anthony draws Kate and Silas together, but they both have to make a decision to trust God for their futures.

Melissa Jagears’ A Bride at Last is a cute historical romance with great characters and an interesting story. I enjoyed this novel & will read more from Jagears.
