Miranda Wimplegate’s family is in the business of auctions. Unfortunately her grandfather, the founder of their auction house, seems to be losing his touch (and possibly his sanity). When he accidentally sells a portrait not listed by a prominent family, the family finds themselves in trouble. Miranda and her grandfather set out to the Missouri Ozarks on a mission to recover the lost portrait and restore it to its proper owner.

Unbeknownst to them, though, the portrait was placed in their hands purposefully and has been deliberately set to its ACTUAL rightful owner–the heir of a huge estate. Wyatt has been lost and needs to be found in order to save the fortunes of his family from an unscrupulous financial manager. Currently, he happens to be the manager of the livestock auction house Miranda’s grandfather has purchased sight unseen.

When Miranda and Wyatt meet, sparks fly. They must wade through misunderstandings and avoid calamity to uncover the truth about Wyatt’s identity and their relationship. The story contains some humorous moments and nice ending for all, but some of the situations seem a bit overdone.
