Advent Day 6: Operation Christmas Child

In honor of St. Nicholas, I thought that participating in Operation Christmas Child would be appropriate for December 6th.  Basically, you fill a shoebox with little gifts for either a boy or a girl and drop off at a local drop off location.  Samaritan’s Purse delivers the gifts to children in need around the world.

We have totally missed the deadline for shopping for gifts ourselves (again!) this year, BUT thankfully Samaritan’s Purse introduced a new online option. First, you choose the gender and age of the child you want to fill the box for.

 

Your box will be filled for you with the essentials…

… and you also get to choose some great toys.  Not only is this convenient, but kids still get to feel like they are participating!

I usually let Megan do a box for a girl, and the boys get to do a box for a boy.  It costs $35 for each box…but the stories of how the boxes have impacted children around the world are priceless!
