Today, while the baby is napping,

  (Isn’t he cute?!)

I thought I’d spend some time catching up on my book reviews. I’m so excited to share reviews from two of my favorite authors (Dee Henderson & Karen Witemeyer) in the next few weeks. I’ve got the latest from Mary Connealy heading my way, so I’ll post a review to that book soon!

Anyway, reading makes me want cookies, and writing about reading definitely calls for a snack! Today, I really wanted some chocolate chip cookies, so I asked my sweet hubby to make some while I typed away.

Unfortunately, all my amazing, expensive organic ingredients came out of the oven looking like this:

Yikes! While this interesting cookie…film?? tasted ok, it was really like eating fried chocolate chips–not exactly what I was craving. So I did some searching to try to figure out where my guy went wrong. Turns out, he left out about 1/2 the flour.

I added in some more flour to the tiny bit of dough remaining and got about 1/2 dozen edible cookies.

Yes–they were eaten quickly! The difference is clear–too bad we didn’t notice before we baked the cookies!

Here’s a great site with some other common cookie blunders, in case you find yourself with a disaster on your hands this summer: http://www.mnn.com/food/recipes/stories/whats-wrong-with-my-cookies-a-troubleshooting-guide.

Hopefully, you’ll catch any missing ingredients before baking! 😊
