I just posted a breakdown of how I make my schedule HERE, but here’s what my home-school schedule looks like for the week. 🙂

8:30-8:45:  Bible study/AWANAs verses

8:45-9:15:  Math

9:15-9:45:  All About Spelling/Explode the Code

9:45-10:  Recess

10-10:30 Grammar/Handwriting

10:30-11:  History

11-11:30:  Mon-Literature, Tues-Art, Thursday-Music

11:30:  Lunch

Tuesday 12-2:  Writing with our home-school buddies

Thursday 12-2:  Science with our home school buddies

We follow our regular schedule M, T, and Th.  On Wednesday mornings, we have Mom 2 Mom Bible study, so the kids complete their work during that time.  On Friday, the kids take their spelling, grammar, and math tests.

How do I work with multiple kids?  I try to have some seatwork activities that each child can do on his/her own.  Like Explode the Code for Phonics/spelling work and handwriting for Grammar.  That gives the kids something to do while I work with each one individually.  I try to give each child 10 minutes of focused instruction with me per subject and 20 minutes of homework time.  This time frame works for my kids most of the time.  You may find that you need to spend more time on instruction with your kids or you need more time for certain subjects.  You have to figure out what works best for your kids and what their strengths are–sometimes on a daily basis.

Example Math schedule:

8:45-8:55 Megan:  Instruction, Tristan & Josyan Math games

8:55-9:05 Tristan:  Instruction, Megan homework, Josyan flashmaster (math facts game)

9:05-9:15 Josyan:  Instruction, Megan & Tristan Homework

I have Megan go first because her homework takes longer and she tends to do her own thing if she doesn’t understand.  Both Tristan and Megan can help Josyan and his work is still pretty simple, so it works to let him go last.  I also like to have the kids work with each other as much as possible.  For example, I might have Megan do flashcards with Josyan while I work with Tristan.  It all depends on where we are and what needs done that day.
