Summer “School”

20140325-113002.jpgSometimes we all get a little overwhelmed.  This year, it happened for me in March.  In addition to the ‘normal’ stuff, I’m on a deadline to finish my dissertation by May 20th (good luck, Karen!) and I’m co-hosting a huge local event for my company here in town this month.  With only four weeks left of school anyway, Ryan said it was fine to just be done.  HUGE sigh of relief!

But, finishing in March means a LONG time until the beginning of next year.  So, I found these great workbooks at Five & Below & Office Max.  With the exception of Megan’s (she has lots of drills left in her math book from last year that she’s doing for math), the books cover everything the boys should have learned over the past year–from reading to grammar to math.

So, every day, while I cross items off my do-to list like a crazy woman, the kids do 30 minutes in their workbooks and then read for 30 minutes.  So far, it’s working great!  They are still learning/reviewing, and they don’t need my help!  I love that they are strengthening their skills and increasing their confidence…and I am getting SO MUCH DONE!  🙂

If you’re looking for a great way to continue learning over the summer, this might be a great solution for you.  It’s quick and easy, and the kids seem to enjoy it!
