The kids were watching Despicable Me 2 over the weekend, and I couldn’t stop laughing when I saw this scene! Though Gru is trying to screw up the courage to ask for a date, the process he goes through reminds me of what many of us do when we sit down to make our phone calls for our businesses!
Can you relate?! I remember when I first starting my business. I had a particular friend who I thought would love the service provided by my company, but he was successful, and I was “just” a stay-at-home mom. I would pick up the phone and start dialing, then quickly hang it up. It took me a few tries to finally get the number in and make the call. That friend is still one of my best customers today, 6 years later!
Remember–your job is not to make a sale–it’s simply to find out if your potential customer or distributor is even interested. Take the pressure off of yourself–just make the call, share the information, and ask what your prospect would like to do. In the words of Jim Rohn, “Some will, some won’t, so what!” 🙂
